15”x 15” Home series.
This series is made from wood that was in a 125+ year old house being slightly renovated. Which means the trees the wood came from grew 200+ years ago at the least. (More then likely 325+ years ago….) I used every scrap I was given and created this beautiful collection.
Making these pieces I couldn’t get over that the trees grew so long ago and were then cut down and hidden in a house for so long before getting to show off their natural beauty. I wonder what the landscape looked like when these trees were living…. Who touched the wood that built the home? Who cut each tree? This wood has a story.
Each piece in this series is a different size and the wood is assembled in a different way. I wanted to capture the essence of the wood, as it’s beautiful on its own. Stained in natural color to preserve it, these pieces can go anywhere.
