I have always been interested in different forms of art and social justice. In 2015 I released a children’s book on growing up with HIV and AIDS.
This was done to educate everyone with the truths of HIV and AIDS. I was exposed to the unfair stigma of living with HIV and AIDS during several trips to Ethiopia and in everyday life here in the United States. I have witnessed how HIV has many misconceptions and I’ve seen those with the disease be treated unfairly. The need for accurate information to be distributed weighed heavily on my heart. I especially wanted to focus on helping kids understand that living with HIV should not include living with the stigma that surrounds this chronic disease.
